Time Change

 | October 5, 2008 7:07 pm

So we lost an hours sleep last night and it wasn’t because of Harry for once!!

The clocks have gone forward in Australia, so the time difference is currently 10 hours.  This will only be for a few weeks until the clocks go back in the UK on 26 October 2008.  The time difference will then be 11 hours.

Please take the time changes into consideration before picking up the phone:-)

 | September 27, 2008 7:59 pm

So there are two planned trips back to the UK.

Harry and Rachel will be back in the UK 31 October 2008 to 19 November 2008.

The whole Legg clan will then be heading over on 29 March 2009 until 20 April 2009.  The exact locations for this trip are still TBA.

Look forward to seeing you all then, in the meantime we’ll keep uploading new pictures of Harry to the Gallery, Smugmug and Facebook.

Hi Everyone

If you hadn’t realised, Bean was due today and at the moment shows no sign of making an appearance.

So I’ve been booked to have an induction on Sunday night.  Therefore in theory unless Bean makes an appearance on its own before then, Bean will likely arrive on Monday or Tuesday.

Keep an eye on the site for news and pictures.

Bed Bugs!

 | September 10, 2006 10:25 pm

My first encounter with vicious Australian animals in the home!  I got up and went to the loo this morning and jumped back into bed (as it was freezing) and lay back and jumped up and i felt a short sharp nipping pain on my back!

“owwww, what’s that in my back” Thinking a feather from my pillow had sunk into my back or something Matt’s pause worried me and I thought it must be a tick or something yuckie!

No, A evil little ant wasn’t happy with me laying down on me had decided to nip me with his pincer/claws/teeth or whatever ants have!  No idea where the ant came from, but i can assure you it wasn’t from my pants as Matt suggested!

ouch  (Snigger…..  Mandible my dear! ;)    I need a macro lens…… Matt)

J, P & J Visit.

 | August 21, 2006 10:20 pm

They came, we ate drank and had fun and they left, and we cried for many hours after they left.  I was so excited about the first members of my family coming to visit, and I wasn’t disappointed.  It was so much fun to have them here and show them the sites.  Although we had to work during the week we tried to do as much as we could at the weekends.

We did a full on tour of Sydney by foot on the first Saturday and then went to the fish markets and the zoo on the Sunday.  The following weekend we went to the hunter valley and to the Royal National Park (for an unsuccessful land based whale watch) and fox studios.  We then got to spend a fantastic week up in Cairns exploring the rainforest and gorges, spotting cassowaries(sp) and going out the the Barrier reef.  We also found out where cottage cheese is made from (babies vomit) and got to stay in the classiest accommodation, ‘the cave’ aka, Tropic sunrise!  Jenny went scuba diving for the first time and actually understood why Matt and I love it so much.

It was amazing getting to know our nephew Josiah.  He is such a cutey.

Before you get the wrong idea, it didn’t make us broody just reminded us that neither of us have really developed far from the intelligence level of a 1 year old:P  Jenny & Paula went and did bridge climb on their last weekend and Matt and I had to baby sit.  We thought we’d gotten away without a nappy change for the entire duration of the stay until matt got a warm wet feeling on his flip flop open toe foot.  At which point we got out of the particular lift we were in and got in a fresh none ‘wee filled’ lift and went up to the baby change facilities in Myer department store!  We looked and were obviously parenting frauds and novices!  Seriously if you’ve never been in one of those rooms its a whole new world that none parents have no idea about!  Other than that our baby sitting duties were a relative success other than the brief half hour that Jen and Paula couldn’t get through to us because my phone had crashed and they thought we had either kidnapped their son, or done something that had resulted in us taking him to hospital where we couldn’t have our phones on:P  Our final day was spent at the zoo and this time Joe was much more aware of the animals and loved the bird show.  Must be taking notes from matt on the bird loving thing, Matt still insists we sit there half an hour before hand every time we go to ensure we get the best seats!

All in all a fantastic time had by us.  Paula and Jenny cooked us some fantastic food we sampled lots of Australian and New Zealand wine and beer and had the best time catching up.  The only down side to the trip was the goodbyes.  Jenny & Paula saw about 5 seconds of it.  Matt had to deal with the nest two hours of crying and the two days of moping around.  It really highlights how much you miss your family and friends and that’s hard to see past when people leave.  But then your mind moves onto planning the itinerary for the next visitor and for our trip back next year!  So look in your diary and see when you can freee up to visit and keep the end of July and begining of August free next year for our tour of the UK.

More photos of J,P & J’s trip will be uploaded soon!

Busy start to the year!

 | March 19, 2006 9:36 pm

So it’s been a busy start to the year with our fantastic trip to New Zealand and still having our house guests (who are currently living in a van in Melbourne for the Commonwealth games). Obviously the majority of our time has been spent at work but there has still been some time for playing.

Since I’ve started work at my firm in Sydney I’ve made a few good mates, and for some reason they all appear to be leaving. This has led to a few nights out on the town. The first was a ghost tour in a hearse around Sydney which was a laugh but there was too much talking going on to hear the actually haunted tales of Sydney. Going to the S & M brothel during the tour was a bit of an eye opener.
